An outstanding deep crimson blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. A fruity core of redcurrant with hints of smoky tar, mint and cedar. Velvety fine grained tannins and excellent length.

Penfolds Bin 389 04 - $80.00 (bottle)
Multi Region, SA
53% Cabernet, 47% Shiraz. An Australian classic matured in American oak used in previous vintages of Grange. On the palate full bodied and very intense with flavours of berry, licorice, tobacco, mint and vanilla oak, firm tannins and a savoury finish.

d’Arenberg The Dead Arm Shiraz 1998 - $130.00 (bottle)
McLaren Vale, SA
This richly concentrated wine is named after a fungal disease and comes from vines dating back to 1912. d’Arenberg still practice foot pressing to achieve optimum but gentle extraction. This is a block buster style matured in American and French oak after partial barrel fermentation. A great year for Dead Arm.
